Mixed Championship 2021-22

Mixed Championship 2021-22

Good start in the national championship of the mixed team of Milano Curling Club, which returns from the weekend in Pinerolo with one victory and one defeat.

Saturday 18th, against the Turin-based team Draghi 4 Fun, a last season finalist and runner-up, it was a very close match, played point to point and that could only end at the extra end. Our opponents were good at exploiting some of our imprecision in the decisive end and the advantage of the hammer, to achieve that one point that meant an 8-7 defeat for us.

There is a lot of regret because, as seen, the outcome could have been different and we were very close to end the match in our favor already with the last stone of the eighth end.

Having dispelled the disappointment and regained energy, on Sunday morning the Milan Curling team went down on the ice again for an unprecedented and heartfelt Milanese derby against the 2×2 team of Jass Curling Club.

The remarkable concentration of all our players and great precision in the play immediately turned the outcome of the match in our favor. After a 4-0 run in the first two ends, they went to the mid-game stop with a 7-1 lead. Two more points in the fifth end then ensured the outcome of the match, which ended definitively at the seventh end with a score of 11-2.

There is therefore a lot of confidence for the continuation of the journey in the championship, which will return with the second round on the weekend of 5 and 6 February 2022.
